CG: Tell us how you found your passion for food photography and why you love this style.

LB: I like to travel and bake desserts. One day, I decided that a delicious dessert deserves a photo model. On Instagram, I found fantastic content surrounding food images. I learned from them and learned from their experience. But what drives me to photography the most is sunlight.

CG: How much preparation does one image take?

LB: It’s difficult to say precisely how long it takes to prepare one image. It all depends on whether it should be an ordinary photo or a food story. Every food photographer will agree that the lion’s share of the entire process is the preparation of the scene and the design of the “model”.

CG: Your images have a dark aesthetic. Is this intentional, and why?

LB: In my opinion, dark photos look incredibly atmospheric and mesmerising. A food story with a dark mood looks more realistic. I sometimes try to take bright pictures, but they do not entirely inspire my mood.

CG: What motivates you to keep on being creative?

LB: Do what you can and ‘know-how’. Love. Without which life does not seem so complete. This is what motivates me.

CG: Any advice for photographers who would like to join Alamy?

LB: Do not stop when doubts creep into your head, be inspired by the aesthetic surrounding you, and learn from the best. Be sure to look at your first images to understand that you have actually improved your skills and grown professionally.
